Plans one or two back to school events (i.e. Park Meet Up) for new second graders to meet before their first day of school at Lions Park.

Chair(s) support the music teacher in putting on the musical. Past involvement has included roviding volunteers to help at performances, managing program “shout outs”, offering photos and selling flowers

Chair(s) plan and coordinate one of our biggest family friendly events of the year! Past events have included: DJ, Face Painting, inflatables, raffle prizes, food trucks, carnival games and more! Working within a budget, chairs will book all of the entertainment for this event.

Every student is a part of a community. The Civic Engagement chair helps to foster a love of civic engagement and helps students to discover how they can impact their community through a variety of ways.

Work with the school secretary and an outside vendor to upload family data to a directory app. Respond to membership and directory inquiries via email. As new memberships are purchased throughout the year, these users will need to be granted access to the app.

In 2023 & 2024, this was a Family Trivia Night. Chair(s) will determine what Family Night will look like (does not need to be a trivia night) and work with a vendor to put the event on. Chair(s) will coordinate the full event, typically held in the winter.

Organizes coffee and pastry grab and go for parents on the first day of school.

Chairs reach out to families/students going through a difficult time with support through a card and/or gift card.

In 2023-2024 this committee was reworked to function as a grade level book club. In previous years, this committee facilitated adding new book titles to the LRC. Chair will likely work with LRC staff to determine the best way to expose the students to new books.

LRC Chair(s) will create and maintain the volunteer sign-up google sheet. Will be in regular communication with LRC Staff to receive updates for schedule. Ideally, chair will also volunteer in the LRC on a regular basis as schedule permits.

Coordinates with local McDonalds and school to staff and promote an evening at McDonalds where teachers serve food and proceeds go back to the school.

Plans and markets a few social nights for parents throughout the year.

School wide talent show. Coordinates the acts, rehearsals and performances.

Held the last Friday of the month. Students anre able to purchase, in advance, a $5 lunch that includes a slice of Costco pizza, an orange and cookies. Committee markets, orders food, coordinates volunteers and oversees this special pizza lunch.

Help plan and organize the main school fundraiser, Roar and Run (event is held usually the Friday before Columbus Day). Coordinate with PTO and School Secretary for flyers to be sent out, manage fundraiser website, order prizes online and be available the day of the Roar and Run to assist during the event.

Manages each classroom’s room reps throughout the year. Provides necessary information and/or budgets to room reps.

The School Assemblies chair will find performers or speakers for 1 or 2 events throughout the year and coordinate their event.

Chair works with school to gather school supply lists from each grade level. Then works with a supplier to build the packs. Chair then manages marketing and sales.

Works with school to promote yearly science fair. Manages entries, creates layout of presentations.

Social Media chair will manage the Lions Park PTO Facebook and Instagram pages ensuring activities are promoted and pictures are posted to social media.

Works with various restaurants in the area to provide a monthly special lunch to the students. Manages ordering, delivery, distribution and collecting fees.

Works with a vendor to design Lions Park gear for sale one to two times a year.

Chair(s) help plan and assist with activities to honor our Lions Park staff throughout Staff Appreciation Week in May. Help is needed in planning the event as well as coordinating food, supplies, and staff gifts.

Organizes a fun, family basketball hot shots event in which winning teams are awarded prizes. Volunteers are needed at the event to check- in teams and keep score.
